Join the Movement

At VeriFry, our mission is to provide plant-based food options in omnivore restaurants that customers can trust. By certifying fryers free of cross-contamination, we help restaurants attract a broader customer base, including vegetarians, vegans, and health-conscious diners. This not only increases sales but also builds trust and loyalty among a growing market segment.

1. Dedicated Plant-Based Fryer

  • Requirement: Designate a specific fryer exclusively for plant-based frying. This fryer should not be used for any animal-based products.
  • Purpose: To eliminate cross-contamination and ensure that fries are 100% plant-based.

2. Initial Digital Audit

  • Requirement: Submit high-quality photos or videos of the designated fryer setup. The audit will focus on cleanliness, proper setup, and adherence to plant-based protocols.
  • Purpose: To verify that the fryer is properly maintained and free from cross-contamination risks.

3. Oil Management

  • Requirement: Use only plant-based oils in the designated fryer. Maintain records of oil changes, including dates and frequency.
  • Purpose: To ensure that the oil used is always plant-based and to provide transparency to consumers.

4. Staff Training

  • Requirement: All kitchen staff must complete a training module on plant-based fryer protocols, including proper cleaning procedures and avoiding cross-contamination. A quiz will be administered in the VeriFry app, and staff must pass to ensure compliance. Training for front-of-house staff is also recommended to ensure they can confidently communicate the benefits of VeriFry-certified fries to customers.
  • Purpose: To ensure that all staff members are aware of and committed to maintaining the integrity of the plant-based fryer.

5. Random Audits

  • Requirement: Restaurants must agree to participate in random audits. This includes submitting additional photos or videos of the fryer setup and mailing in oil samples for testing.
  • Purpose: To maintain ongoing compliance and ensure that the fryer remains free from cross-contamination.

6. Transparency

  • Requirement: Display the VeriFry certification badge prominently on menus, websites, and in-store materials. Provide consumers with access to fryer details, including oil change frequency and last audit results.
  • Purpose: To build trust with consumers and demonstrate a commitment to transparency and safety.

7. Compliance with Local Regulations

  • Requirement: Ensure that the designated fryer and its operation comply with all local health and safety regulations.
  • Purpose: To maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Requirement: Commit to continuous improvement in plant-based fryer management. This includes staying updated with VeriFry guidelines and promptly addressing any issues identified during audits.
  • Purpose: To ensure ongoing compliance and a commitment to providing the safest and highest quality plant-based fries.
